Bold is beautiful as fashion gets a spring in its step

Bold colours, graphic prints and nautical stripes were all on show yesterday as the capital's fashion retailers showcased their spring styles on the first day of Dublin Fashion Week.

City Hall provided the setting for a sneak preview of the spring rails at Arnotts, Brown Thomas, Clerys, Penneys, and the Ilac, Jervis and Stephen's Green Shopping Centres.

A glamorous Karen Millen citrus dress conjured up a 1940s feel, while this season's floaty, layered look was epitomised by Stradivarius at the Jervis Centre.

Penneys brought a modern twist to the nautical look with bold stripes in primary colours. Vibrant shades and pop art-inspired prints were the focus of H collection.
